When Georges Delbard decided to create a rose bush that would bear his name, he knew it had to be a special variety . But what does a special variety mean? A color never seen before? A perfume without equal? Or an exceptionally different specimen? The “Papi Delbard” variety has a little of all this.
It has a wonderful perfume with notes of grapefruit and citrus, a magnificent color combination and a unique presence. The flowers have a ripe apricot color, with dark orange tones in the center and a very warm yellow towards the outside. Flowering is abundant and the flowers are very large, 12 to 15 cm. The petals are so dense that the slightly heavy flowers hang slightly upside down as if bowing to their caretaker. It blooms repeatedly from May until the first frost and is resistant to diseases and pests.
He has received numerous awards, but the most representative is perhaps the Gold Medal obtained in the Baden-Baden competition, one of the most important and prestigious in the world, in 1992.
